How Are We Different?

Most boarding facilities are built for pets, not gundogs. They rely on volume, not understanding of working breeds. When your dog is dropped into a wild and free playtime, structure disappears — and with it, the focus and discipline you’ve worked so hard to build. At The Gundog Club, we design every part of the day to preserve your foundation. Individualized handling, conditioning, and consistent routines keep your dog sharp and confident. This isn’t "doggy daycare"— it’s intentional boarding for sporting breeds that demand purpose. You’ve invested in your dog’s development; we make sure that investment does not degrade while you’re away.

What Does Membership Include?

For The Dogs

Routine & Nutrition

Before working, dogs are aired 3x per day from climate controlled kennels, focusing on door manners and controlled socialization.

TLC dog food is included, or you are welcome to send along your preferred food instead. We can feed once or twice a day depending on your preference.

Transportation & Work

We provide pick-up and drop-off for members within the greater Houston area. We make transportation safe for your dog and convenient for your family.

All dogs will be worked to make them a little better every day. From "roading" (running at controlled speeds beside an ATV) to heeling sessions with a trainer, your dog will get the exercise needed to thrive, not plateau. Exercise is on private grounds and water.

For The Owners

Land Access & Training Events

Our 40 acres, complete with a tech pond, is open to members for training. Take advantage of land and water specifically designed and constructed for training bird dogs, including prairie grasses for pointers and flushers, angle entry lining for retrievers, and short-cut fields for puppies still going through yard work.

We also host formal training days, creating a more realistic hunting and hunt test atmosphere. Dogs are far more likely to succeed in their job -whether that be picking up ducks or picking up ribbons- if they can work a similar environment beforehand.

For The Owners

Training Birds Available

Members have access to purchase pen-raised birds for upland use in our 20-acre advanced field or as live fliers over the pond. Set them out yourself or use it as an opportunity to take a lesson with the trainer.

Eligibility

Veterinary History

All dogs must have on file current proof of Rabies as required by local jurisdictions, and Bordetella (the vaccination for kennel cough) to ensure safe contact among members.

For the safety of our current members, dogs with aggression in regards to food, other dogs, or people are not eligible.
